Flu Vaccination for Children

In 2018 this vaccine will be offered to children aged 2,3, and 4 years, children in school years 1 and 2 and children over 6 months with a health condition that puts them at risk of flu.  You will receive a letter from the Practice inviting your child to attend for vaccination please telephone the surgery to make an appointment with the Practice Nurses.

Flu Vaccination for Adults

 

The summary of patients who are recommended to have Flu Vaccination are:

 

Everyone aged 65 and over

All pregnant women

Everyone living in a residential or nursing home

Everyone who cares for an older or disabled person

Those in an At Risk Group and have a Long Term Condition

 

The At Risk Groups/Long Term Conditions Groups are:

 

Heart problems

Chest problems or breathing difficulties including bronchitis, emphysema or asthma

Kidney disease

Lowered immunity due to disease or treatment (such as steroid medication or cancer treatment)

Liver disease

Had a stroke or a transient ischaemic attack (TIA)

Diabetes

Neurological condition e.g. multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy or learning difficulty

A Problem with your spleen e.g.e sickle cell disease or you have had your spleen removed

Seriously overweight
