Practice nurses
Our Practice Nurses are available by appointment and are able to advise on many aspects of health promotion and care. They are responsible for:
- Cervical screening (smear tests)
- Chronic Disease Management (inlcuding asthma, COPD/spirometry, diabetes, coronary heart disease), childhood vaccinations and immunisations
- Contraceptive services - i.e. pill checks
- Dressings, including compression dressings
- Injections
- Shingles vaccinations
- Teledermatology
- Tissue viability
- Zoladex implants
Childhood Immunisations Schedule
Healthcare assistants
Our Healthcare Assistants hold regular clinics and they are responsible for the following:
- B12 injections
- Blood tests and INRs
- Blood pressure checks
- Diabetic reviews, Dopplers
- Dressings
- ECGs
- Flu injections
- New patient medicals
- NHS health checks
- Pneumococcal vaccinations
- Suture removal
- Weight checks
- Well person checks
Maternity care
Most antenatal care is on a shared basis between the hospital, the GP of your choice and the Practice Midwife. The midwife will arrange your booking appointment at the hospital.
The GPs and midwife can provide full details of local services for antenatal education, delivery and postnatal care. In addition, there are Parentcraft meetings held on a regular basis. More details are available on Meet the Team - Healthcare Team.

Coil fittings and removals
Held by: Dr. Saskia Renkema
Time: Special appointment made with Dr. Saskia Renkema
If you wish to have a coil fitted please make an appointment first with Dr. Renkema first to discuss this in further detail before any coil fitting is agreed to.
Community nurses
Our Community Nursing Team provides a comprehensive and flexible service for patients who are house-bound. They are now based at Foster Street. The team is currently lead by Karen Bent.
Health visitor
The Health Visitors aim to support families and particularly children of the under-5 age group, providing advice and information on all aspects of family health, childcare and development.
Our patients come under the care of the West Team, which is based at Molehill Copse in Maidstone. They may be contacted by phoning 03000 5550506, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm and will return your call as soon as possible if they are not immediately available. If you do have any concerns about your child please do not hesitate to ring the Health Visitor for help and advice.
